Volunteering Minister Stephen Dawson has today encouraged volunteer organisations to apply for a Grant to fund an event or activity that celebrates volunteers during National Volunteer Week.

Funded through Lotterywest, volunteer-involving organisations can both acknowledge the contributions of their volunteers and also help raise awareness of the benefits of volunteering.

The National Volunteer Week Grants are administered by Volunteering WA, the peak body for volunteering in Western Australia.

The grants allow communities to show their appreciation for our hard-working volunteers, highlight and showcase the diversity of volunteers in WA, and inspire others to get involved.

In 2022 more than 176 WA volunteer organisations received a grant, with 213 events held across WA recognising more than 12,231 volunteers.

Grant applications are open from tomorrow Friday, 27 January to 5:00pm Sunday, 5 March 2023.
