The McGowan Government is continuing to provide assistance to international students who have chosen to study in Western Australia, opening a new round of the International Student Accommodation Subsidy (ISAS) and International Student ELICOS Bursary (ISEB).

The programs provide international students with financial assistance to cover costs in Semester 1, 2023, such as:

  • The International Student Accommodation Subsidy - a $1,500 payment to eligible students to offset accommodation expenses while studying full-time; and
  • The International Student ELICOS Bursary  a $1,500 payment to eligible international students to offset fees when undertaking an approved English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) in WA.

In total, $6,750,000 in program funds are available through the ISAS and ISEB.

The two programs are funded through the McGowan Government's $41.2 million investment in initiatives to support the State's international education sector and grow the number of international students studying in WA.

Applications for ISAS open on Wednesday, 8 March 2023 and close at 4:00 pm (AWST) on Monday, 17 April 2023, or when program funds have been exhausted, whichever date is earliest.

Applications for ISEB open on Wednesday, 8 March 2023 and close at 4:00 pm (AWST) on Monday, 26 June 2023, or when program funds have been exhausted, whichever date is earliest.
