The McGowan Government is making sure five successful entrepreneur and investor education programs will continue in 2023, with more than $375,000 in additional grant funding being provided through its X-TEND WA program.

The service providers, which received grants in 2022 through round three of X-TEND, will receive additional funding ranging from $28,000 to $100,000 to continue their programs.

Grant funding from X-TEND is used by service providers to deliver programs that assist WA entrepreneurs, startups, and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) expanding their capability and supporting their innovation journey.

X-TEND also helps fund programs that improve investor education and build confidence in investing in innovative projects.

VentureX HQ will receive $75,000 in additional grant funding to continue their educational network for female founders of scalable business ventures or investors seeking opportunities for growth and investment.

Since establishing X-TEND in 2019, the McGowan Government has awarded more than $2 million to 19 education programs for a range of sectors, including health technologies, regional innovation, export market entry and impact, and angel investment.

Applications are now open for round four of X-TEND, and will close Tuesday, 28 March 2023.

Service providers can apply for grants of up to $100,000 and will have to commit to a co-contribution.

Round four includes a health and medical life sciences stream to encourage applications from service providers that can build capability in this industry.

X-TEND is part of the McGowan Government's $16.7 million New Industries Fund, which supports and accelerates new and emerging businesses to diversify the State's economy and create jobs.
