- Western Power welcomes 51 apprentices in four-year placements
- The 2023 apprenticeship program is part of the utility's drive to provide employment for Western Australians, nurture energy industry talent and support economic growth
Energy Minister Bill Johnston today announced that 51 new apprentices had joined Western Power this year fostering the energy sector's growth and development of aspiring talent.
The apprenticeship program is run by nationally accredited trainers who are experts in their field with both on and off the job training at Western Power's RTO (Power Training Services) and TAFEWA.
The 2023 intake includes 34 lineworkers, 13 electricians, three heavy diesel mechanics, and one automotive electrician in a program that is a vital part of Western Power's drive to continue fostering a strong, knowledgeable workforce now and in the future.
Western Power's comprehensive apprenticeship, graduate, trainee, and pre-apprenticeship scholarship programs create multiple pathways to a career in an exciting and future-focussed industry.
