As part of the ongoing investment to enhance cyber security within Western Australia, the WA Government has recently entered a corporate partnership with Australia and New Zealand's national identity and cyber support service, IDCARE.

IDCARE will work in partnership with the WA Government to provide a 24/7 incident response capability and specialist case management service to support community members impacted by cyber security incidents.

As part of the agreement, the WA Government and IDCARE will also be delivering their Cyber Resilience Outreach Clinics (CROCs) program across regional WA which will commence in 2023.

Operated by IDCARE, the CROCs outreach program consists of a collection of mobile pop-up clinics for remote WA communities, to provide a physical presence and foster an enduring resilience in the fight against cybercrimes, scams, and identity theft.

IDCARE is a not-for-profit national identity and cyber support service. This partnership with the WA Government will provide support and assurance to the WA community who are exposed to an environment of increasing cyber security concerns and reinforces our commitment to assist in protecting our government and the community from malicious cyber activity.

Comments attributed to Innovation and the Digital Economy Minister Stephen Dawson:

"The McGowan Government is excited to collaborate with IDCARE on our shared journey to raise awareness about current scams, cyberthreats and online enabled crime affecting remote communities.

"This partnership reinforces our commitment to improving cyber security in WA, and to protect our community from malicious cyber activity at every opportunity.

"Importantly, IDCARE's focus will be on harm minimisation and support for victims and the organisation is positioned to respond to any data breach regardless of the cause."
