    Supreme Court’s Justice Hall to join Court of Appeal

    Supreme Court judge the Hon. Justice Stephen Hall has been appointed as a judge of the Court of Appeal.

     

    Justice Hall has sat on the bench of the Supreme Court for 13 years.

     

    He presided as a judge alone in the seven-month criminal trial of Claremont serial killer Bradley Robert Edwards.

     

    Justice Hall was admitted to practice in 1985 and spent 13 years with the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in Perth.

     

    He became a barrister in 1999 and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2003.

     

    The newly created position reflects the McGowan Government's commitment to ensuring our courts are adequately resourced to manage increasing workloads.

     

    Justice Hall's appointment takes effect on 3 October 2022.
