    • New volunteer fire station officially opened in Julimar
    • Funded by over $500,000 from Emergency Services Levy
    • Facility can serve as an Incident Control Centre
    • Community safety is a priority for the McGowan Government

Julimar Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade's new fire station has been officially opened by Emergency Services Minister Stephen Dawson.

The state-of-the-art facility was made possible through a $547,100 grant via the Emergency Services Levy, complemented by additional funding from the Shire of Toodyay.

It boasts new training facilities, cleaning areas for firefighters and their personal protective equipment, and the potential to accommodate larger emergency vehicles in the future.

Additionally, an on-site water tank for emergency operations was constructed with funding from the WA Recovery Plan.

The station will also have the capacity to function as a Level 2 Incident Control Centre, which will be invaluable during significant bushfires and other emergencies.

The facility enables the volunteer brigade to deliver an enhanced service to the local community.

Julimar Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade currently has 52 active members and prior to the construction of the new station, worked out of a shed built in 1993.
