    • Revelation Perth International Film Festival launches tonight at Luna Leederville
    • 25th year of the annual program features a stellar line-up of international and Australian films
    • Industry professionals to participate in panels, discussions and workshops to share skills and build capacity

The much-loved Revelation Perth International Film Festival starts its 2022 screenings tonight, bringing a 10-day program of independent wonders of the screen to the local cinemas of Luna Leederville, Luna on SX in Fremantle and The Backlot in West Perth. The festival has reduced its in-person program to meet public health restrictions over the past two years. This year however, it will present the full 10-day festival in-person followed by an online arm of the event.

The festival's silver jubilee program includes 26 feature films, 16 full-length documentaries and over 50 short films and documentaries from 29 countries. It also includes special events at various locations, including a screening of 'Terra Femme', a film on the history of women travellers, at the WA Museum Boola Bardip on Thursday July 7 and Sunday July 10.

Local talent takes the spotlight with Ella Wright's documentary 'Stage Changers', Karla Hart's short 'Tooly' and Ben Matei and Jennie Tkaz's 2021 animated short 'Never Alone' among the local selections. WA shorts will be celebrated at the popular 'Westralia Day' event at The Backlot on Saturday July 9 and at the closing night event 'Get Your Shorts On!' held on Sunday July 17.

The McGowan Government supports the Revelation Perth International Film Festival through Screenwest and Lotterywest.

The festival runs from Thursday July 7 to Sunday July 17, and program details can be found at www.revelationfilmfest.org/program. An online program will run from July 18 to July 24.
