    Lotterywest grant to provide funding boost for Scouts WA

    Youth Minister Dave Kelly has presented Scouts WA with a Lotterywest grant of $143,408.


    The funding will help support Scouts WA's ongoing work in the physical, intellectual and social development of young people across Western Australia.


    Scouts WA programs offer volunteering opportunities and personal development through fun, engaging, physically challenging and mentally stimulating activities for young people.


    Programs also build youth leadership and provide recognition of participation and achievement.


    The Scouting movement has nearly 40 million members worldwide, including 6,750 throughout WA.


    There are 81 Scout Groups and 299 units in the Perth Metropolitan region and 29 Scout Groups and 93 units across regional WA.


    As part of the McGowan Government's 2021 election commitments, Scouts WA were also awarded $3 million to undertake the construction of the Carramar Scout Hall in the suburb of Tapping.
