    • $1.6 million science area upgrade delivered through WA Recovery Plan
    • Preparing students for future careers in the field of science
    • Work underway to deliver additional $6.3 million performing arts centre and STEM upgrade project

    Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery today officially opened the new science area at Balga Senior High School.


    The school's refurbished science classrooms now include a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) laboratory, 3D printer room and resource areas.


    Planning is also underway at the school to deliver a $6.3 million McGowan Government election commitment featuring a new performing arts centre with seating for almost 300 people, a green room, staff area, toilets and storage. The project also includes further upgrades to STEM facilities.


    The upgrades are a welcome addition to the school, which was built in 1970.
