    • Anniversary celebration includes two sector events focused on building connections in the health and medical life sciences, and primary industries
    • Reaffirmation of the Sister-State relationship directly supports objectives in the Western Australian Investment and Trade Plan 2021-22, and reinforces WA's strong relationship and trading relations with China

Western Australia and China's Zhejiang Province will celebrate 35 years of their Sister-State relationship today by reaffirming and expanding the important relationship.

Premier Mark McGowan will meet virtually with the new Governor of Zhejiang Mr Wang Hao to re-sign the Sister-State agreement.

The renewed agreement includes opportunities for both regions to work together to achieve economic outcomes in primary industries, technology, new energy, and the health and life sciences. In addition, it commits to continue supporting people-to-people exchanges between schools, business councils and government agencies.

Both WA and Zhejiang Province have been exploring opportunities to collaborate in innovation and technology and emerging industries since the Western Australia-Zhejiang 8th Exchange Committee meeting in 2021.

The reaffirmation of the Sister-State relationship directly supports objectives in the WA Investment and Trade Plan 2021-22, and is a reflection of WA's ongoing strong relationship and trading relations with China.
