Attorney General John Quigley is pleased to announce the appointment of Assistant State Solicitor Maryellen Hipworth as a Member of the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT).
A former registered nurse, Ms Hipworth has worked at the State Solicitor's Office since 2008, often with a focus on medical and health matters.
In the past two years she has played a significant role in advising the State Government on legal issues in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
After graduating and working as a nurse, Ms Hipworth studied law at Murdoch University and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2006.
She has also worked for Slater & Gordon Lawyers and the Department of Health.
Ms Hipworth has been appointed an Ordinary Member of the SAT for a five-year term.
