    New board appointments for the Insurance Commission

    • Continued diversity of skills and experience to govern the organisation

    Premier Mark McGowan has today announced the appointment of three new commissioners to the Insurance Commission of Western Australia board.


    Ms Emma Scotney, Dr Alan Rees and Ms Julie Keene took up their roles on January 1, 2022, replacing former board members John Scott, Carol Dolan and Yasmin Broughton.


    The Insurance Commission is a Government Trading Enterprise that provides motor injury insurance to more than 1.9 million drivers and 3 million vehicles in WA.


    It also manages the self-insurance arrangements of Government, and invests and manages funds to provide assets to meet insurance liabilities.


    Ms Scotney is a corporate lawyer and has 25 years' combined experience within the resources and agricultural sectors.


    Dr Rees has 25 years' experience in financial services internationally including banking, insurance superannuation and investment.


    Ms Keene is a chartered accountant with 20 years of non-executive director experience across community services, education and tourism industries. Her executive career involved senior roles in the finance, insurance, investment and education sectors.


    Mr Rob Bransby has also been appointed as the Deputy Chair of the board after being a commissioner for the past six years.
