    • New campaign to promote WA tourism experiences as gifts
    • WA travel and experiences promoted to locals and interstate market
    • Choose from accommodation or tours and attractions catering to a range of interests

A new campaign is encouraging people to support the WA tourism industry and gift a WA adventure to loved ones this festive season.

Launched today, Tourism WA's 'Give the Gift of Travel' marketing campaign encourages people to book or buy vouchers for WA tourism experiences direct with local operators or travel agents through the www.gift.westernaustralia.com website.

The campaign will run in WA across social, digital, and print and complements Tourism Australia's national gifting campaign, which highlights the depth and breadth of travel experiences that can easily be given as gifts.

Social media advertising will also target people living interstate, to entice them to purchase WA tourism experiences for WA-based friends and relatives.

People visiting the website can choose from accommodation, tours and attractions catering to a range of interests including food and drink, nature and wildlife, and Aboriginal culture.

Local tourism operators featured on the website include Lake Argyle Cruises, Margaret River Adventure Co, Willie Creek Pearl Farm and Swan River Seaplanes.

The Give the Gift of Travel campaign is supported by an intrastate marketing partnership with Sightseeing Pass Australia, to offer tailored gift bundles of WA tourism experiences available through wanderwa.com.au

The website has gift bundles to suit mums, dads, families, friends and other loved ones, with experiences including hot air ballooning in the Avon Valley, swimming with wild dolphins, two nights at the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge and a rickshaw tour of Perth's small bars.

Comments attributed to Tourism Minister David Templeman:

"This is a great opportunity for people to show their festive spirit this season and support our local tourism operators.

"Gift vouchers for a Manta Ray Marine Eco Safari in Coral Bay, a Swan Valley wine cruise or a scenic flight over the picturesque pink lake of Hutt Lagoon are unforgettable experiences that can't help but bring people joy.

"They're a meaningful gift that will create lasting memories for those lucky enough to receive them while getting behind our tourism industry."
