- Development application lodged for innovative new homes at Middleton Beach Activity Centre redevelopment
- Duettes purpose designed and built to offer flexible living and working space
- Land made available for more housing options in Albany
An innovative, new housing product planned for Albany's mixed-use precinct at Middleton Beach is one step closer, with submission of a development application to the City of Albany.
The unique Duettes houses, proposed to be constructed and sold as completed homes ready to occupy, include two separate accommodation areas in two-storey terrace homes.
Duettes is the first purpose designed medium density mixed-use development by DevelopmentWA to be launched to market in the Great Southern region.
A decision on the development application is expected next month. A tender for the construction of the homes will be released following development approval.
Progress is also continuing on the Middleton Beach Activity Centre project.
Located within DevelopmentWA's Middleton Beach Activity Centre area, the drawcard will be a premium hotel at Middleton Beach announced last year.
The sale of the 3,700sqm site to a consortium between Pacifica Developments and Ausglobal Group, with the Seashells Group as the hotel operator, will see the development of a four-star-plus new hotel, five to seven storeys, with 80 to 100 rooms.
The Middleton Beach Activity Centre comprises an expanded foreshore reserve and public open space, and parcels of land offering the potential for tourist facilities, restaurants, retail and permanent, holiday and short-stay accommodation.
