    West Byford Primary School improvement now underway

    • Construction on $2 million upgrade for West Byford Primary School is underway
    • New teaching block to open in 2022 for the growing local area
    • Includes four general classrooms, internal activity area, assisted access toilet

    Construction has started on a major upgrade at West Byford Primary School which will deliver a new general classroom teaching block.


    Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery was at the school today to see firsthand the $2 million facilities being built.


    The new teaching block will replace the existing transportable classrooms and provide additional permanent facilities for students in this growing local area.


    The teaching block will include four general classrooms, internal activity area, staff study, student toilets, assisted access toilet, store room, cleaner's room and a covered outdoor area.


    Carabiner Architects has been appointed to design the new building which is supporting approximately seven jobs.


    Construction is expected to be completed in January 2022.


    This project is part of the McGowan Government's Recovery Program investing $492.2 million for upgrades and refurbishments at public schools around Western Australia.
