    • Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight one of only two-night racing events
    • Event expected to attract thousands of motorsport enthusiasts to WA
    • Supported by the State Government, through Tourism WA

All the thrills and spills of Perth's Supercars Championship night round is a step closer for fans, with tickets on sale from 10am today AWST, through Ticketek, to the Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight at Wanneroo Raceway.

Held from September 11-12, 2021, the event is supported by the State Government through Tourism WA and is one of only two Australian championship rounds to feature night racing.

Top drivers, including Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, Chaz Mostert and Will Davison, will compete in the Perth Championship night round, which is currently the biggest motorsport event held in Western Australia.

When WA last hosted the Supercars in 2019, thousands of motorsport fans raced to WA for the occasion, staying an average of more than four nights in WA accommodation and spending hundreds of dollars daily, supporting local businesses.

Live television broadcast of the 2019 event attracted more than one million viewers around the nation. This year's event is expected to attract similar numbers, providing a valuable vehicle to promote the State.

The Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight event is part of the Repco Supercars Championships, a series of 12 racing events held throughout Australia featuring 26 drivers and 15 teams.

Comments attributed to Tourism Minister David Templeman:

"We're really pleased to welcome the Supercars back to WA. Being able to host national drawcard events like this is a great step forward to rebuilding our economy and the tourism industry.

"This event will supercharge our events calendar for September with fans guaranteed to get their adrenaline fix under lights at Wanneroo.

"I encourage people to book their Supercars tickets and stay longer in our State to discover more exciting WA experiences, such as whale watching tours along our coast or climbing to the top of Perth's majestic Matagarup Bridge."

Comments attributed to Sport and Recreation Minister Tony Buti:

"We're really proud to be able to light up Wanneroo and host the best in the touring car business, here in WA for the Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight.

"Motorsport enjoys an enthusiastic and passionate following in our State and this event has the potential to inspire further growth at all levels - from grass roots participants to professional teams.

"A ticket to the Perth's Supercars event puts locals in pole-position for a great night out and WA motorsport on track for a great future."
