Registrations are now open for the inaugural Cyber West Summit, which will be held in Perth from June 24-25, 2021.

The summit will bring together thought leaders from industry and government to discuss the lead role innovation has to play in protecting against growing global cyber security threats and Western Australia's economic development.

Cyber attacks cost the Western Australian economy at least $150 million per year. Estimates suggest a single cyber attack costs a small business around $7,000.

Aiming to attract more than 400 delegates and exhibitors, the two-day summit will showcase some of Western Australia's cutting-edge cyber security companies.

More than 30 speakers have been confirmed, including Innovation and ICT Minister Don Punch, who will deliver the opening address, and former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

The summit will be hosted by the WA AustCyber Innovation Hub, in partnership with the WA Data Science Innovation Hub and the MTPConnect WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub.

All three innovation hubs are funded by the McGowan Government through the New Industries Fund, and represent highly successful strategic collaboration with national growth centres, universities and local government.
