Works have begun on the highly anticipated new secondary school in Piara Waters that is set to welcome students for the start of the 2023 school year.
Stage one of the landmark Piara Waters Secondary School will be built at a cost of $60 million and will include an education support centre.
Construction also includes an administration block, student services centre, library, information resource centre and staff room, learning areas, food and technology areas, hard courts, an oval and car parking.
The new school will ease pressure on Harrisdale Senior High School and provide local students access to a brand new school in their neighbourhood.
The new secondary school will complement three new primary schools in the area: Aspiri Primary School, opened in 2019; North Harrisdale Primary School, opened this year; and Forrestdale South East Primary School (planning name) opening in 2022.
It is part of the McGowan Government's continued investment into public education infrastructure which currently totals more than $1.5 billion.
With_Architecture Studio designed the impressive new school and construction is being managed by Perkins Builders.
