The McGowan Government has committed more than $1 million of funding to 27 projects supporting club development across the State.
Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray announced the recipients of the Every Club grant scheme today in the Kimberley, where two Shires are set to receive funding through the scheme.
The Shire of Broome will receive $60,000 support towards the Club Development Officer role, assisting the 45 sporting clubs in Broome with capacity building and sustainability, particularly around governance and financial management.
The Shire of Derby-West Kimberley will receive a $30,000 grant for the SDWK Every Club Project to provide personal development and program support to sport and recreation organisations, primarily in Derby and Fitzroy Crossing.
The Every Club grant scheme provides funding that enables eligible State Sporting Associations (SSAs) and local governments to support the State's 5,500 sport and recreation clubs and their volunteers to build their organisational capacity and capability.
Among the successful applicants are the Shires of Broome and Derby-West Kimberley and the Cities of Vincent, Fremantle, Joondalup and Kwinana.

Comments attributed to Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray:
"Investing in local government authorities and State Sporting Associations to create and implement club development plans helps build the capacity of clubs, ensuring their long-term future.
"Every Club provides resources that anyone can access, at any time, for the specific needs of their local club, which in turn enables the delivery of great sporting opportunities to grassroots participants across the State.
"Sport is such an important part of our lives as Western Australians - even more so in remote and regional towns such as Fitzroy Crossing and Broome - and the Every Club grant scheme plays an important role in ensuring grassroots sporting clubs are strong and sustainable."
