Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan has today paid tribute to outgoing Great Southern Development Commission CEO Bruce Manning after 20 years in the role.
Under Mr Manning's leadership the Great Southern Development Commission has driven a substantial diversification of the region's primary production and economic base.
The State Government has appointed Natasha Monks the new Commission CEO.
Ms Monks has most recently served as Australia's Trade Commissioner to Peru and brings considerable knowledge and experience in business development.
Mr Manning will transition to the role of Commission Chair to oversee the continued development of the Great Southern and to assist the new CEO.
