- Parry and Rosenthal Architects appointed for new $5.3 million performing arts centre at Dianella Secondary College
- The new centre will provide opportunities for 550 current students from Years 7-12
- Construction expected to start in late 2021 and create local jobs
Parry and Rosenthal Architects has been selected to design a cutting-edge performing arts centre at Dianella Secondary College.
The $5.3 million facility will allow this growing school to expand its arts programs, including its extensive music program.
Students will now have the chance to learn and perform in a facility boasting the latest features, helping them develop the skills required to succeed in the performing arts industry.
The brief to guide the architect includes the requirement for a contemporary new performing arts centre including a large theatre space, stage, green room, foyer and additional storage space.
This project also includes the conversion and refurbishment of the existing school drama room into a dance studio.
Jobs are now being created with the project in the planning stage, with construction expected to start in late 2021 and completed in late 2022.
The new performing arts centre is part of the McGowan Government's WA Recovery Plan and is expected to create 19 jobs.
