    • The project will support 46 jobs

SITE Architecture Studio has been appointed to design an impressive $12.8 million rebuild of Westminster Primary School.

Modern new facilities will include two teaching buildings, an administration block, playing courts and a car park. There will also be refurbishments to existing buildings to provide a high-quality learning environment across the school, which will also assist in job creation.

This announcement follows the popular decision by the community to merge Westminster Primary School and Westminster Junior Primary School.

From next year, the two schools will come together at the Westminster Primary School site and will benefit from high-quality new facilities. The Westminster Education Support Centre will remain on site and will also benefit from the rebuild.

Construction is expected to start in mid-2021 and will support 46 jobs.

A total of $10 million of this investment is part of the unprecedented Major School Upgrade package - totalling $492.2 million - which includes $319.2 million of new funding for upgrades and refurbishments at 63 public schools around the State, stimulating economic growth and supporting around 1,850 jobs.

The remaining $2.8 million is part of the administration upgrade project.
