    Modern facilities to benefit Broome students completed

    • $19.3 million upgrade to Broome Senior High School completed

    The McGowan Government's $19.3 million upgrade to Broome Senior High School is officially complete, marking the delivery of a major election commitment for the local community.


    Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery visited the school to view the new double-storey building and other refurbishments, which will be used by students and staff in Term 4 after they return from school holidays.


    The modern facilities include general classrooms, computer laboratories, student and staff toilets, a staff area and student services.


    Extensive landscaping was also part of the impressive upgrade in addition to a new courtyard for learning and recreation activities. A landscaped area and yarning circle has also been added to the school's Cultural Centre.


    The school car park was also upgraded.


    More than 300 Western Australian workers and a total of 29 local businesses were employed to work on the project.


    Local businesses included Roadline Civil Contractors, Millar Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Services, Nudj Plumbing Service Pty Ltd, Kimberley Manufacturing Pty Ltd, McCorry Brown Earthmoving and Western Formworx Pty Ltd.
