    • South Regional TAFE's Harvey campus to relocate to improved facilities
    • Ten-year lease signed with Harvey Water
    • Harvey Water completed significant upgrades to the building as part of the agreement
    • New campus will cater to increased student demand

    The Education and Training Minister today visited the upgraded building that will become the new location for South Regional TAFE's Harvey campus.

    The new and improved Harvey campus on James Stirling Place will open to students in Term 4, 2020.

    As part of lease negotiations, Harvey Water carried out a complete refurbishment to create contemporary learning areas that are fit for purpose and meet industry and student demands.

    The Harvey campus offers courses in a number of areas including business, children's services, education and adult education.

    Students also have the opportunity to study courses that are part of the State Government's Lower fees, local skills initiative which halved the cost of training for 34 high priority qualifications when it launched in January.

    The scheme was recently expanded to include an additional 39 courses, reduced by up to 72 per cent, to support the State's economic needs following COVID-19.

    Half price courses available at Harvey campus:

    • Certificate IV in Ageing Support;
    • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing); and
    • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).

    The new lease arrangement complements the McGowan Government's $229.2 million Rebuilding our TAFEs plan which will deliver state-of-the-art learning opportunities for students and boost the Western Australian economy through capital works projects.

    Comments attributed to Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
