- Construction begins on $7.1 million upgrade for Victoria Park Primary School
- New two-storey building to open in 2021 for the growing local area

Construction has started on a major upgrade of Victoria Park Primary School which will provide for future student enrolments in the growing inner city area.
Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery and Victoria Park MLA Ben Wyatt were at the site today where the new $7.1 million two-storey block will be built. Construction is expected to be completed in June 2021.
The block will include five general learning classrooms, an activity area and toilets on the ground floor with staff parking beneath the building.
The first floor will have five classrooms for kindergarten and pre-primary students, an activity area and an innovative outdoor playground on the rooftop.
The new classrooms will provide permanent accommodation for 260 students.
Existing transportable classrooms will be removed once construction is completed to allow the oval to be redeveloped.
Crothers Construction Pty Ltd will build the two-storey block which will create about 250 jobs.
