    WA emergency services personnel awarded Queen’s Birthday Honours

    • Five emergency services personnel from Western Australia recognised
    • Three Australian Fire Service Medals and two Emergency Services Medals awarded
    • Career and volunteer personnel recognised from metro and regional services 

    Five emergency services volunteer and career personnel from Western Australia have been recognised for their exceptional efforts with awards in the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours List today.


    The five Western Australians have shown outstanding commitment, innovation and dedication to creating safer communities through their emergency services roles.


    Mr James Palmiro Armanasco received the Australian Fire Service Medal for his 35 years with the Kalamunda Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service and for the development of digital databases to help volunteers navigate health and safety processes and monitor local hydrants.


    Mr Warren John Day from Busselton VFRS received the AFSM for 36 years serving as a firefighter and respected mentor, and leading the inauguration of an International Firefighters Day Memorial Service in his local community.


    Department of Fire and Emergency Services Superintendent Peter Crosby Sutton was awarded the AFSM for his role in the development of firefighter advancement programs, the adoption of new features in firefighting appliances, and the strengthening of community emergency information.


    State Emergency Services volunteer Mr David Jason Price was awarded an Emergency Services Medal for his widely respected leadership and unwavering commitment to developing training for SES volunteers.


    Marine Rescue Mandurah Commander and retired DFES employee Mr Danny Goodlad received the ESM for his dedication to Marine Rescue, which included the development a State-wide skills training package for Marine Rescue volunteers.
