    • State Government acknowledges outgoing RWWA chief executive Richard Burt

    The State Government has acknowledged outgoing Racing and Wagering Western Australia chief executive Richard Burt for his 13 years of service, during which time he had led the organisation through a period of significant reform.


    Mr Burt has presided over important work to drive the competitiveness of the WA TAB and address market challenges to maximise returns to the WA racing industry - including a $159 million return to racing in 2019.


    He led the industry through important animal welfare reforms, enhancements to the WA TAB product and multiple infrastructure improvements.


    Mr Burt worked to help ensure 30 per cent of the State Government's Point of Consumption tax was returned to the WA racing industry to assist with its ongoing development.


    Mr Burt finishes in the role on September 30, 2020.
