    The next regional tour of works from the State Art Collection is visiting 10 communities across the State, with the first stop in Katanning later this month.

    There Were Moments of Transformation is the second exhibition tour as part of the McGowan Government's $8 million Regional Exhibition Touring Boost election commitment.

    The exhibition will provide regional audiences with an opportunity to see sculptures, jewellery and ceramics from prolific international artists such as Auguste Rodin and Pierre Auguste Renoir, and WA artists such as Lucy Yukenbarri.

    The participating regional galleries will also present the work of their local artists and engagement activities that explore the theme of transformation, ensuring each stop on the tour is unique.

    The tour itinerary is:

    • Katanning Library and Gallery - March 28, 2020 to May 2, 2020;
    • Geraldton Regional Art Gallery - June 6, 2020 to June 27, 2020;
    • ArtGeo Cultural Complex, Busselton - July 5, 2020 to August 6, 2020;
    • Carnarvon Library and Gallery - August 15, 2020 to September 18, 2020;

    • Albany Town Hall - July 3, 2021 to August 15, 2021;
    • Bunbury Regional Art Gallery - November 27, 2021 to March 6, 2022.

    The first exhibition, 'How Did I Get Here?', has been touring regional Western Australia for the past year with the next stop at Geraldton Regional Art Gallery opening 6pm March 13, 2020.

    The Boost is delivered by ART ON THE MOVE and the Art Gallery of WA, and is managed by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

    Comments attributed to Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman:

    "The Regional Exhibition Touring Boost is continuing to connect regional Western Australians with more opportunities to engage with the arts.

    "We are taking high calibre works from the State Art Collection out of the city and into the regions.

    "While this is great for regional audiences, it also provides regional galleries with experience presenting diverse exhibitions that are still unique to their local people, places and culture."
