- First sod turned for new Sunningdale Primary School in Yanchep
- Brand new $17 million school to open for 2021 school year
- Construction to create an estimated 300 jobs
Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery has turned the first sod at Sunningdale Primary School, with construction of the brand new school in Yanchep officially underway.
Sunningdale Primary School will accommodate 430 students from kindergarten to Year 6 in state-of-the-art facilities that will feature a dedicated early childhood teaching block and three general classroom blocks, including a specialised art and craft room.
Students and staff will also enjoy a covered assembly area with a canteen and music room, as well as a library resource centre, staff room, conference room and administration building.
The new school at 35 Sunningdale Road will officially open for the 2021 school year and will ease pressure on surrounding primary schools in the Yanchep area.
An estimated 300 jobs will be created by the school's construction which is being undertaken by WA company EMCO Building.
