- Funding to provide much needed upgrades to schools while stimulating the economy and creating local jobs
Leeming Primary School is receiving more than $474,000 to upgrade facilities and address high priority maintenance items, including upgrading car parks, toilet facilities and structural maintenance.
Under the McGowan Government's $200 million maintenance package announced in September, $165 million of funding is being allocated to schools for targeted maintenance works, upgrades or refurbishments.
Every school will also share in $35 million to address maintenance works or identified minor works listed in Building Condition Assessment reports.
The package will apply to all 789 WA public schools and will deliver an economic stimulus that will create thousands of jobs across the State, particularly for local tradespeople including carpenters, electricians and painters.
Under the package, a total of 13 public schools and education support centres in Jandakot will share about $2.8 million worth of funding for upgrades.
