- Mount Lawley Community Cabinet to be held on August 18 and 19
The McGowan Labor Government is hosting a Community Cabinet in Mount Lawley on August 18 and 19.
Community Cabinet meetings give local residents and organisations the opportunity to meet with the Premier and Cabinet Ministers, to discuss local issues and open community dialogue.
A key feature of the McGowan Government's Community Cabinet is the Town Hall meeting, where local community representatives attend and have the opportunity to discuss pressing issues that matter to the Mount Lawley community, and pose questions directly to the Premier and Cabinet Ministers in a public forum.
Discussions will be facilitated by local Member of Parliament, Mount Lawley MLA Simon Millman, at a series of community meetings, forums and events that will focus on local industries, including small business and community health.
The Mount Lawley Town Hall event will be held on Sunday, August 18.
A series of Community Cabinet meetings are held throughout the year. Each visit comprises a formal Cabinet meeting, and may include formal and informal community consultations affecting the area or the wider State.
Comments attributed to Premier Mark McGowan:
"Community Cabinet meetings are vital in providing Cabinet Ministers and myself with the opportunity to visit various towns and areas, across the State, to gain insight into local community issues.
"Each forum is specific to their local area and I look forward to hearing from the residents of Mount Lawley and surrounding areas about what matters most to them at the community Town Hall."
Comments attributed to Mount Lawley MLA Simon Millman:
"There are a lot of exciting things happening in Mount Lawley including road and school upgrades that will make a big difference to local residents.
"I'm looking forward to welcoming the Premier and Cabinet Ministers to Mount Lawley so they can hear firsthand what our community's big issues are."
