    • Expressions of interest (EOI) sought for three commercial lease opportunities
    • Café, food and beverage, and creative businesses will complement world-class museum experiences
    • An in-house functions caterer is also sought to service exciting museum events

    The McGowan Government is calling for creative food, beverage and retail partners to submit proposals to operate three commercial spaces in the new museum for Western Australia.

    The commercial opportunities are ideal for:

    • A café in the heritage-listed Beaufort building, with internal and alfresco seating;
    • A stunning food and beverage, or other innovative offering with after-hours access in the heritage-listed Jubilee building; and
    • A street-front space that could be used by creative businesses to provide a unique and innovative offering within the Perth Cultural Centre.

    The museum is also seeking a caterer to manage in-house functions and events, predominantly in the heritage-listed Hackett Hall building, as well as other dynamic spaces within the museum.

    Proposals are required to add value to the exceptional visitor experiences within the new museum, and contribute to the activation and vibrancy of the Perth Cultural Centre and city.

    The EOI was released today by McGees Property and is open for three weeks. A non-mandatory briefing will be held for interested companies.

    Construction of the new museum is well advanced, with the building due for completion in late 2019 and exhibition fit-out throughout next year. The new museum is on schedule to open in late 2020.

    Comments attributed to Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman:

    "The new museum offers a unique opportunity for creative food and beverage and other creative businesses to deliver incredible experiences in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre.

    "The mix of heritage and contemporary architecture provides a stunning backdrop for Perth's newest commercial offerings.

    "The new museum, opening in late 2020, will be a landmark building with dynamic visitor experiences that will contribute to the vibrancy of our ever-changing city. The food and beverage offering should complement the museum and be another drawcard for locals and visitors to come into the city, and to stay longer."
