    Energy Minister welcomes new Synergy board members

    Energy Minister Bill Johnston is pleased to announce changes to Synergy's board, with Bronwyn Barnes and Richard Watson being appointed.

     

    Ms Barnes has served as a member of several boards across a variety of industries, and was inducted into the WA Women's Hall of Fame earlier this year. She brings outstanding corporate governance and planning skills, and her experience seeing through large and complex projects.

     

    Mr Watson is an economist and graduate of Cambridge University. He is the executive director at the Department of Treasury since 2014, and brings a variety of expertise to the board - including in revenue policy issues and economic forecasting.

     

    Ms Barnes and Mr Watson have each been appointed for two-year terms.

     

    These new appointments will enhance the board's skills and capabilities, and help guide Synergy through continuing change in the energy sector. 

     

    In addition to these new appointments, Rob Bransby has been reappointed for an 18-month term and Michele Dolin has been reappointed for a two-year term.
