    Perth to host its first day-night Test match

    • Perth Stadium to host historic day-night Test match against New Zealand
    • Perth to also host its first Twenty 20 International in nearly a decade against Pakistan
    • Blockbuster matches are expected to attract visitors - creating jobs and boosting the economy

    Western Australian cricket fans will get to experience the spectacle of a night Test when Perth Stadium hosts Australia in the historic fixture against trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand on December 12.

     

    Tourism Minister Paul Papalia and Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray welcomed Cricket Australia's international summer schedule announcement today which will bring some major clashes to Perth.

     

    As a part of the fixtures Perth will also host its first Twenty 20 International in nearly a decade, with world number one ranked Pakistan taking on Australia on November 8. 

     

    It comes as the State Government, through Tourism Western Australia, successfully bid to host the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup in 2020.

     

    Eleven men's and women's matches will be played in Perth next year, which is expected to attract a huge number of visitors - creating jobs and boosting the economy.
