- Animated tour of WA's new museum shows dramatic internal spaces and design
- Project reaches milestone with construction at its highest point
- Activated and dynamic visitor experiences will contribute to the State's rich cultural tourism offering
For the first time, Western Australians are able to get a glimpse of what they will experience when their new museum opens in 2020.
Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman today launched an animated tour of the museum to coincide with the project reaching its highest construction point.
The animated tour shows the scale of the project and the dramatic features of the building design, including the contemporary architecture integrating with the historic buildings.
It takes viewers on a journey from the city, at Yagan Square, over the Perth Cultural Centre and into the heart of the museum - the 'city room' - where visitors can gather and attend cultural and community events.
Viewers will then proceed through the museum's public spaces with glimpses into the new exhibition galleries, including a view of the iconic blue whale skeleton.
The State Government is calling for expressions of interest for businesses to provide food and beverage, and retail options within the new museum and wider Perth Cultural Centre realm.
Businesses are encouraged to register their interest through http://www.mcgees.com.au
