Comments attributed to Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray:

"The McGowan Government is working to support the sport and recreation industry to increase gender diversity, particularly in leadership positions.

"Despite sport and recreation in WA being increasingly enjoyed by Western Australians from all backgrounds, the fact remains that there has not been a significant increase in diversity in leadership roles."

Comments attributed to Women's Interests Minister Simone McGurk:

"It's been demonstrated that increased gender diversity in leadership roles leads to better organisations, better governance and benefits to culture and morale.

"The Gender Diversity Advisory Group is an important step in enabling the sport and recreation industry to integrate gender diversity and inclusion values into all aspects of their operations."
