- New magistrate appointed to the Family Court of Western Australia
- Paul Glass will fill the position effective from October 1, 2018
Attorney General John Quigley is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Glass as a magistrate of the Family Court of Western Australia.
Comments attributed to Attorney General John Quigley:
"Mr Glass was admitted to practice in the Australian Capital Territory on October 19, 2007.
"He was a private practitioner for a number of years, practising in the family law jurisdiction where he provided a range of legal services.
"Mr Glass was a Senior Family Lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid from 2009 to 2011, where he acted as a duty lawyer.
"During this time, he was responsible for the provision of duty services to the Magistrates and Family Law Courts, participated in Family Dispute Resolution conferences and appeared as an advocate in both duty matters and for ongoing clients.
"From 2011 to the present, Mr Glass practised as a barrister at the Victorian Bar where he performed a wide range of trial-related services in family law matters, including parenting and property disputes and child support cases.
"He has significant experience in interlocutory matters, trials and appeals.
"While at the Bar, Mr Glass was also a part-time member of the Victorian Administrative Appeals Tribunal, where he heard and determined applications for review of administrative decisions of the Department of Human Services, including complex child support departure appeals.
"Mr Glass will relocate to Western Australia for the position, and I congratulate him on his appointment and wish him well in his new role."
