- Pindan Constructions Pty Ltd awarded contract to design and construct depot
- $7.8m project will include a four-bay workshop, administration building, refuelling facilities, bus wash facilities and hardstand parking areas for up to 55 buses
Western Australian company Pindan Constructions has been chosen to design and build a new bus depot in Mount Claremont.
The depot is planned for a 1.2 hectare site west of Brockway Road.
It will accommodate a four-bay workshop, administration building, bus refuelling facilities and bus wash facilities.
Initially about 30 to 40 buses are expected to use the facility, but it will be designed to accommodate up to 55.
The new depot will be open daily with most bus movements occurring from 6am to 8am and again from 6pm to 8pm.
When the construction methodology is finalised, nearby residents, businesses and organisations will be notified of any potential construction impacts.
Comments attributed to Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:
"I am pleased to announce another contract award to a local company to deliver this bus depot that will make services more reliable for Transperth passengers.
"While smaller in scale to some projects being delivered by this Government, infrastructure like this is critical to ensuring we deliver long-term solutions for Perth's bus network."
