Premier Mark McGowan today officially opened Allendale Primary School's brand new science laboratory.
Primary school students worked in the lab for the first time and welcomed the opportunity to show off the new facility to the Premier.
The McGowan Government's $17 million 'Science in Schools' election commitment will see 200 primary school classrooms transformed into science laboratories by 2021.
All selected primary schools also received $25,000 to purchase laboratory equipment and resources.
Allendale Primary School has purchased technology including an interactive whiteboard, microscopes, iPads and robotics for the school's coding program.
The school is an innovative leader in the Mid-West, and is a WA Primary School of the Year finalist in this year's WA Education Awards.
Teacher Stephanie Briggs-Killick is a WA Premier's Primary Teacher of the Year finalist, and principal Lisa Criddle is last year's WA Primary Principal of the Year.
Schools are selected to have classrooms transformed into science labs based on their plans to grow and improve science education to skill students up for the jobs of the future.
Expressions of interest for the next round of science labs closes on Friday August 17, 2018.
