- Jodi Cant appointed as new Director General of the Department of Finance
Finance Minister Ben Wyatt has today welcomed the appointment of Jodi Cant as the new Director General of the Department of Finance.
Ms Cant was formally appointed by The Honourable Kim Beazley AC, Governor of Western Australia this week after an appointment process run by the Public Sector Commission.
Ms Cant has spent the last 14 years working at Landgate, including as the chief executive officer since 2017. Her work in creating and driving the innovation program at Landgate has received national and international recognition.
Jodi holds a Bachelor of Economics from The University of Western Australia, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Fellow of Leadership WA.
As well as her extensive government experience, Ms Cant has worked in the private and not-for-profit sectors in the areas of strategic planning, marketing and communications.
Ms Cant will be responsible for ensuring the Department of Finance makes significant contributions to the Government Public Sector Renewal Program, with a particular focus on increasing efficiency through the reduction of red tape and simplification of processes.
