    Health Minister Roger Cook has today announced Geraldton Health Campus is set to receive a new 64-slice, state-of-the-art CT scanner worth more than $500,000.

    The funding, secured under the Department of Health's Medical Equipment Replacement Program, was confirmed during the Minister's visit to the Mid-West region.

    Mr Cook also announced project planning had officially begun for stage one of the Geraldton Health Campus redevelopment.

    As part of the 2018-19 State Budget, $73.3 million in funding has been secured which delivers a key election commitment to the people of the Mid-West region to strengthen quality healthcare and create jobs.

    The staged expansion of Geraldton Health Campus will see:

    • An expanded emergency department and critical care unit;
    • An acute psychiatric unit;
    • A mental health short stay unit; and

    Mid-West residents will also benefit from a $10.2 million investment into a community mental health Step Up/Step Down service, which will be delivered through a purpose-built 10-bed facility - located off campus.
