    • First stage completed with a revamp of the 'Our Performance' webpage
    • Improvements make performance information accessible in one place
    • Next stage expected in the second half of 2018

The McGowan Government has today taken a step towards delivering another election commitment, with the first stage completed in the project to improve the public reporting of key health information.

To improve transparency and accessibility, the Department of Health has reviewed its publicly available performance reports, including elective surgery waitlist data and emergency department activity.

These performance reports are now available at an easy to navigate, single 'Our Performance' webpage within the department's website, accessible at http://ww2.health.wa.gov.au/systemperformance

The next stage in this project, expected in the second half of 2018, will see further improvements to the public reporting of key health system information, an expansion of the information available, and a dashboard approach to improve user experience and understanding of the information.

Comments attributed to Health Minister Roger Cook:

"The McGowan Government is committed to improving information accessibility and transparency for the Western Australian public health system.

"One of the directions identified in the recently released Sustainable Health Review Interim Report includes the need for the public reporting of key system performance information.

"We have taken a step in this direction today with these improvements giving the public better insight into the performance of the health system.

"Consumers and industry groups will benefit from changes to the accessibility and transparency of this key information."
