- Two open community forums enable seniors to raise issues direct with Minister
- Forums facilitated by local members Lisa O'Malley, Emily Hamilton, Mark Folkard and Sabine Winton
Seniors had the opportunity to raise important issues direct to Seniors and Ageing Minister Mick Murray today at two community forums.
The events enabled seniors from the north and south of Perth to discuss local matters impacting the ageing population with the McGowan Government.
Bicton MLA Lisa O'Malley, Joondalup MLA Emily Hamilton, Burns Beach MLA Mark Folkard and Wanneroo MLA Sabine Winton facilitated the forums.
The forums took place at Currambine Community Centre and Kadidjiny Park Hall in Melville - with representatives from the Council on the Ageing also attending the Melville event.
Comments attributed to Seniors and Ageing Minister Mick Murray:
"It is vital that we listen to our seniors and hear firsthand about any issues they face.
"I thank local members Lisa O'Malley, Emily Hamilton, Mark Folkard and Sabine Winton for inviting me along to speak with their constituents.
"Governments should never stop listening. I will be taking the matters raised with me today back to my colleagues and we will be working to address them.
"The forums are part of the McGowan Government's commitment to addressing the needs of our ageing population.
"This Government is determined to ensure that all Western Australians can age well in communities where they are valued and respected."
