- Memorial service for firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty
Western Australia's emergency services community will honour firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, at today's (May 7) International Firefighters' Day commemoration.
Emergency Services Minister Fran Logan said the memorial service was an opportunity for loved ones and the community to pay their respects to fallen firefighters and their families.
Mr Logan said the event would also recognise the ongoing commitment of serving firefighters.
The public are invited to attend the memorial service which will be held at the Firefighters' Memorial Grove in Kings Park from 11am.

"It will be an emotional day for many as loved ones and respected colleagues are remembered and revered for their courage.

"The State Government is committed to investing in resources to help all emergency services volunteers and career firefighters who face dangerous conditions as part of their work."
