There will be a general election in Western Australia on February 6.
Premier Carmen Lawrence said today she had advised the Governor that she intends recommending that the Legislative Assembly be dissolved and that the writs for a general election be issued tomorrow.
Candidate nominations would close at 6 pm on January 15.
Claims for enrolment to vote would be received until 6 pm on January 18 at the State Electoral Commission or any Commonwealth Electoral Office in Western Australia.
