The deadline for applications for a vacant position of regional representative - south coast, on the recreational fishing advisory committee has been extended to January 31.
Fisheries Minister Gordon Hill said today that the extension had been given because an advertisement had failed to appear as scheduled in the local press in December.
"It would be a shame if interested recreational fishers missed out on the opportunity to apply for the vacancy," Mr Hill said.
"The south coast position was created to represent the view of recreational fishers from Esperance to Walpole and the successful applicant will play a significant role in representing local concerns on this peak advisory body."
The recreational fishing advisory committee was established by the State Government in May 1989 to advise the Fisheries Minister on the management of Western Australia's highly valued recreational fisheries.
Mr Hill said the appointment was for two years and all applications should be made in writing to the Minister for Fisheries, 11th Floor, 219 St George's Terrace, Perth.
