The Lawrence Government is to provide $1.2 million in 1993 for Government school busy bees following the success of the program last year.
Education Minister Kay Hallahan today said grants of up to $1,500 would be provided to parent groups for school improvement projects.
"The innovative scheme provides funding assistance for projects where parents have donated their time, labour and skills to improve their local school," she said.
Mrs Hallahan said the scheme would reap huge benefits for schools in 1993.
"In 1992, 741 grants were distributed worth more than $1 million but the total value of the work was more than $3.1 million because of the assistance given by parents and local community members."
