Productivity and Labour Relations Minister Yvonne Henderson has clarified that the Australia Day holiday will be on Monday, February 1 this year.
Mrs Henderson said many diaries were wrong in designating Tuesday, January 26 as the Australia Day holiday.
She said the Government had changed the holiday to the day itself as from next year.
It had delayed the move a year because of the number of sporting and other events already in place for the long weekend in 1993.
As from next year, the Australia Day holiday would be held on January 26, starting with Wednesday, January 26, 1994.
