Health Minister Ian Taylor said today he had requested a full account from the Health Department on the circumstances surrounding the care of mental health patients at Wilson's Patch.
"I understand the Health Department responded to the situation and the patients were withdrawn, but I need to know what measures the department had in place to monitor the operation," Mr Taylor said.
"I have been advised that when the patients were returned to Graylands they were assessed and showed no signs of physical abuse.
"Although this was the only program of its type in the State, I have directed the Commissioner of Health to conduct an urgent review of after-care mental health patient services, to ensure there are adequate monitoring systems in place.
"I have also instructed the Commissioner to send a departmental officer to the site to provide a comprehensive report on any remaining health issues in the community."
